FSH Community Center Guidelines
FSH Community Centers are allowed to be booked for a maximum of six hours. Reserve-able hours are:
Sunday–Thursday: 7am–10pm
Friday & Saturday: 7am–11pm.
Please submit your reservation request at least 5-business days before the intended start of your event.
Residents reserving the space must live in Family Student Housing, at least 18 years of age, and present on-site for the duration of the event.
Priority is always given to confirmed reservations. You will receive an email confirmation once your reservation has been booked. If you enter the Community Center during your scheduled time slot, and it is already occupied, the other individual(s) must yield and vacate.
Noise should be kept to a level that will not disturb neighboring units. Quiet Hours still apply to Community Center spaces (Sunday–Thursday: 10pm–7am, Friday & Saturday: 11pm–7am).
The individual booking is responsible for the conduct of their guests.
It is your responsibility to clean up before leaving. This includes:
Children must be supervised at all times.
Smoking is NEVER allowed in or around Community Centers; this includes e-cigarettes and vapes.
Alcohol is only permitted with prior written approval from R&CL staff. If approved, alcohol may be consumed inside and cannot be consumed by anyone under 21. No large containers (i.e. kegs) are permitted and everything must leave the Community Center when your event is over.
The outdoor lawn area behind West Campus Community Center (w/ BBQ) and Storke BBQ pit area are included with (their respective) Community Center reservations. It is the responsibility of anyone using BBQ areas to ensure their fires are extinguished, coals are properly disposed of, and the areas are left clean.
Guests must have visitor parking permits for their vehicles.
If your event involves a UCSB student organization or religious group, the reservation must be made by an FSH resident and the event must be open to all FSH residents. Accordingly, the Resident Director and/or Assistant Resident Director must be given an event flyer at least 1 week prior to the event date and may require a meeting to discuss event logistics.
Special Events Catering, UCen Catering, and The Club have exclusive authority for providing all catered meals and food services in UCSB facilities. Special Events Catering has the first right of refusal for all events in these facilities. If a resident wishes to pursue catering options, they are required to follow the procurement process, as outlined here: https://bfs.ucsb.edu/procurement/buying-goods-and-services/contract-considerations/catering#:~:text=Campus%20 Catering%20must%20be%20 given,granted%20by%20Employee%20%26%20Labor%20Relations
Residential & Community Living reserves the right to close FSH Community Centers, revoke access and require individuals to vacate the space for misuse and policy non-compliance.
